A Split Sandwich

April 20, 2007

A man with his white hair and some wrinkles on the corner of both of his eyes was sitting down next to a lady. Holding a butter knife in his right hand and his sandwich’s edge in his left, he was ready to cut it in half.

Now it’s split in half. He glanced at her and smiled, “I know you still want some more, here I’ve cut it for both of us.”

The lady didn’t say anything but grabbed his right hand with her left. The time stopped at the moment. Both of them were holding together with their other hands holding each of the split sandwich.

In memory of our dad, 16 years ago.

Today she chose to stay at home all day long, walking back their steep but yet beautiful memories.

So God does play dice with the universe. All the evidence points to him being an inveterate gambler, who throws the dice on every possible occasion.
